Propane

The fuel of choice for a greener tomorrow.

It's true!
The future of propane is looking bright for both retailers and the planet. Here's why:

  • Propane is a $30 billion industry in the U.S. and growing and is an approved, clean fuel listed in the 1990 Clean Air Act and the Energy Policy Act of 1992

  • Propane is one of the cleanest burning of all fossil fuels and is not harmful to soil or water

  • Tests conducted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency show that propane-fueled vehicles produce 30 percent to 90 percent less carbon monoxide and about 50 percent fewer toxins and other smog-producing emissions than gasoline engines

  • In 2005, the U.S. consumed 18.89 billion gallons of propane for home, agricultural, industrial, and commercial uses

  • Of the 105.5 million U.S. households, 6.9 million (6.5%) depend on propane for their primary heating and cooking fuel

  • Approximately 10 million more households use propane in one or more appliances, and 47 million homes use propane for outdoor grills

  • 56,100 Americans work in the odorized propane industry; 45,000 of them work for retail propane marketers just like the one in your city or town

  • 690,000 U.S. vehicles run on propane (500,000 forklifts and 190,000 on-road vehicles)

We look forward to helping you succeed as a propane retailer.
